    Fostex T60RP

For what it's worth the 4.4mm to 3.5mm cable for the Fostex T60RP is being sold as a balanced cable. You may want to call a manufacturer of any of these cables to find out out if they are truly balanced.

    Fostex T60RP

I think it has to do with the fact that instead of having a separate right and left cable for each channel of the headphone, the T60 only has a single input for both right and left channels on the left side of the headphone for balanced performance; hence the three black bands instead of two...

    Fostex T60RP

For what it's worth, when I purchased my Fostex T60RP headphones a few years ago they came with some nice extras. However, I still needed a 4.4mm cable so that I could use these headphones through the balanced output of my ifi Ican Signature headphone amplifier. I decided to use a 4.4mm...

    Modhouse Audio Argon - T50RP MK2/3 & T60RP

IMHO, you can make a case for the stock T60RP setting a benchmark for the law of diminishing returns. It's a great headphone for the money. The Argon is not that much more expensive and if you feel that its improvements justify the additional cost then it must also be considered an incredible...

    Calling All "Vintage" Integrated/Receiver Owners

Frank builds nice equipment. I have an old dac from AVA circa 2008 that's very nice sounding. Back in the early 1990's I purchased an AVA Fet valve 300i hybrid amplifier that was very pleasant to listen to driving a pair of 15 ohm LS3/5's. The Ultravalve is fairly rare. I think they actually...

Excellent review! Just curious as to what the component with the large green circular light is? Beautiful looking system. 👍

I still have my late Dad's Dynakit Stereo 70 that he built around 1961. Really nice sounding amplifier. It needs a full restoration which I may have done in the future. I did some mild DIY stuff a few decades back (changing out capacitors, resistors etc.) but did not like dealing with the...

Beautiful receiver! My late Brother had an SX750 as part of his first real audio system back in the late 1970's. I have it now as part of my vintage collection of gear. BTW nice workshop. 👍

And suddenly it's the 1970's all over again! lol. I owned a Teac A 2300 reel to reel. It was nice sounding and built like a tank!

That's a beautiful 771! I remember back in the summer of 1975 when my Dad took me to Bryce Audio in Manhattan to purchase my first audio system, as a 16th Birthday gift from my parents. I was overwhelmed by all of the lit up receivers, with their bright colorful lighting and shiny chrome...
