Im very curious about the combo with D16. I want use DX180 also as digital transport (through coax) at home for my D16 (because of the strong digital part of DX180). I use now android phone or a tablet with UAPP app... The SQ will be probably littlebit better??

Many thanks for usefull info, I had in the past the Variations, unfortunatelly they were not comfortable for my ears but yes, the sound was very good (very clean) for EDM for me.. Hopefully second gen of Variations with better shape will come.. But the EQ before a buying an IEM is great method...

Unfortunatelly it is discontinued, but it is possible to buy it second-hand (as I did) or there are many others, singxer F1 for example, or normal big DDC (then the difference will be even bigger probably, but it is not portable of course), this Titanis is great for portable use, you can use it...

The quality of digital source makes a difference for sure (not night and day of course), Im using my D16 with an android tablet as a source and now I included a small DDC Holo Audio Titanis and the difference is clearly hearable. I thing that, it removed the noise, which you cant hear normally...

If the formfactor of Mojo2 is not problem for you, then I´d take the Mojo2 instead RU7, I think it is a little bit better dac/amp and is much more versatile, I had it in the past, before RU7... by batterypowered dac/amps it has great price/sound ratio (by EU price about 450,-) or now is also...
