I wonder if a 3A switching supply for the K7 would bestow any improvement over the stock 2A?
I upgraded My ZEN CAN iPower to a 5V 5A supply. I thought it was a subtle upgrade on the way that you describe.
It is not a matter of amperage.
2A is sufficient and using 3A will not give you any sonic improvements.
Actually the K7 draws much less current than 2A.
It is a matter of power supply quality.
Buy an audio grade power supply of your choice with a minimum rating of 2A.
@mRaaghava
You can use everything that is within the specs of the PL50 - 12V/3A or 15V/2A.
The Soloist 3X GT needs a 24V power supply so you can't use the PL50.
Thank you.
For 5V I think that you have to look at the iFi products.
Not LPS but high quality SMPS.
There is also the Silent Angel Forester https://www.silent-angel-audio.com/forester-f1
That has two 5V outputs but is quite expensive.
For me, the best way I've explained it to my friends -- you know how some panel displays talk about "true black"? This thing gives me "true silence". You can hear it as the absence of any other sounds between tracks. It is a subtle thing, but it is there if you want it to be.
@Ichos
This Fiio LPS looks pretty similar to some LHY Audio LPS, https://www.audiophonics.fr/en/hifi-power-supply/lhy-audio-lps50va-12v-3-5a-p-19043.html
That means the price of Fiio is really fair. Needing a LPS for Xduoo XD05 Pro and wondering if I should take a 25VA LPS or one of the two 50VA LPS. The Talema transformer inside LHY AUDIO LPS25VA should be inferior (quality wise) to the Nippon steel transformer inside the PL50, shouldn't it?
