Especially a big thx for including a track from my No1 Dark Ambient album (Induction from Gdanian); I listened to it very carefully and analyzing; thanks to you, I discovered new layers. To be honest, I used a different IEM (Hidizs MP145) but got all the details. I did not reach for >200USD IEMs (yet).

Hah, that album is a trip. How the first songs are so minimal then finally you have this epiphany finally on the third song, and they throw everything including the kitchen sink at you!

It’s always relative to cost, so this level of sound for $349.00.....nope, no cons that I can see. Plus they are so well rounded, you see how the DOME went along with all those cable tests? You should get a chance to hear them at some point.

You will be pleasantly enamored with them, I give you my word. Better after about 4 or 5 days of burn-in, yet they are great right out of the box! Cheers! Enjoy, no worries about fit with this one too!

Had no issues whatsoever with the F2, maybe they're on the longer nozzle side, and stick out a bit. But no problems with ear pain...

in terms of pure aesthetics those shells are among the most seductive things i ve seen till now in the iem world ......

They really have a simple yet sophisticated charm, fit nice too!

I owned the Globe and loved it, totally regret selling it. Does it make sense for me to get the Dome?

The DOME in a continuation the Globe in ways, where it fixed a few items, where the Globe had a decent stage, now we are witnessing slightly bigger stage grandeur? To me there is less metallic color of the BA middle and BA treble character than the Globe had. All I can guess is that they are new and different BA models from Sonion and Knowles? The bass footprint is both larger and more clear than the Globe. Also the Dome is more evenly tuned in my opinion? But that extra BA from Sonion is noticeably offering a slightly new and different tune, a tune I have not heard from Penon until now. The tune comes off very even and correct, IMO. The DOME is slightly wider (in physical size) than the Globe, I will say that, but is a perfect shape/size. Though really even the 10th or the Vortex don’t bother me as far as size goes, so? Still I do feel the overall feeling of listening to the DOME will appeal to Globe enthusiasts?

I wish I had more negative things to say here. I mean for many to put some derogatory features adds realism to a review? But I simply don’t know what bad feature or two the DOME can come up with? Really I tried to put something in that direction down, but every time all I could report were plus signs......especially for the money? My review doesn’t sound grounded, but it is exactly how I hear the DOME?

I have some negatives, as I just received it. The cable is defective... already emailed Penon, and now the waiting starts.
In regards to the first impressions, It did not cause any bigger than the Fan2, actually it caused a lesser impression as, maybe, the expectation was higher.
Once I resolve the cable issue I'll get back.

Sorry about your cable. The Fan 2 is very different, as far as being more neutral and having a different style of bass. Where the DOME is the full fledged Penon sound. I would take some time and let it burn-in, after about 5 days the DOME sound was more cohesive and smoother. But also take time and learn what the original Penon signature is about. Personality wise I like the DOME better than the Fan 2?

I had the Fan2 and disliked it intensely...sound was all jacked up to me...

The Fan2 is in a different category for Penon. So even Penon know about how it is tuned different than the rest.

So funny how we hear things differently. I could barely imagine an earphone sounding better than my Fan 2, but it's my first earphone over the $100 mark, so maybe I'm missing out and just don't realize it.

I would describe the Dome sounding as more intimate than the Fan 2. Maybe because of it's smaller sound stage.
