The Joseph Grado Signature HP1000 series HP2 is the pride of my collection. I am now contemplating passing it along to another serious hobbyist and giving someone else the THRILL and ENJOYMENT that I have experienced.

Production was limited to about 900 pieces total comprised of the three variants (HP1, HP2 and HP3) and I’m sure quite a number of those will never change hands and attrition over so many years would mean even less now. The HP3 is not the equal sonically to the HP1 and HP2. The only difference between the HP1 & HP2 are the toggle switches on the HP1 to change phase otherwise they are identical with the same finely matched drivers. I always preferred the HP2 as the toggle switches and their circuitry on the HP1 could become an issue as it ages.

This pair is beautifully clean and not a mark or scratch on them. (I would rate them near perfect). That includes the leather headband. No fading of the finish, I would rate them as close as you can get from 98 to 100%. They are wonderfully neutral in their sound (no artificial BS curves). JOE DESIGNED THEM AS A TOOL FOR HIS STUDIO WORK as he was designing high performance ribbon microphones. 🎤 For studio work and opera (an accomplished opera singer) he needed something neutral and natural. I have not heard too many Uber high end more expensive phones that do accomplish this type of neutrality instead of their creating a sound that might impress but is not even close to neutral. I can think of several including one for $15,000 that do not create music as well as others at less than 1/3rd the price.

*Mine has the optional upgrade cable:
Joseph Grado Signature Ultra-Wide
Bandwidth Reference Cable.*.

That is not often seen and is a real performance IMPROVEMENT. Most that I have seen only have his basic cable.

*Comes with 2 pair of brand new Grado original flat pads.*
(Those are the ONLY pads to use with the Joseph Grado Signature 1000 series).

I have not seen an HP1000 in quite some time that looks nearly so good, search the archives.

Shipping in the continental U.S.

Buyer splits real shipping with insurance.

I intend to run the ad for a limited time before I may just put it back in the collection.

One last feature is of course:
“PRIDE of OWNERSHIP”

Thanks for 👀 looking.

P.S. Check out the comments below especially the last one that I just added. I did not want to overload the ad and it puts even more perspective on this wonderful & rare headphone.

Me neither, they are beautiful in sound and their unique look. Very comfortable too. Not at all easy to locate in this condition along with the Signature Refetence cable which was an option to purchase to optimize their wonderful neutral sound.

Thanks for the kind wishes.

I’ve seen some as high as $2,900 Euros and the only difference was the seller had the original cardboard pizza box. That’s pretty darn high in my mind but they are only getting more rare.

Have seen over the last couple of years several in the $2,200 to $2,600 and they looked no better than mine or not even as good and still did not have Joe Grado’s Super wide bandwidth optional upgrade cable that Joe
designed for optimum performance.
