I flew in her when she was 'The Dragon and His Tail" a number of years ago. A different friend (who flies for Alaska) was a regular right seater in the Collings B-17 and was good friends with Mac. Aviation is a tough game. Vintage aircraft are an especially tough game.

More on this. A different friend tells me (on the FaceBook thread with the picture) that the D-Day stripes are only on the lower wing on Darren's plane. So I called him a vandal for buzzing Bend and we'll await the reaction. :-)
