My guess it's since the upper mids is not as forward the bass weight get more weight to them, most IEMs follow upper mids more close to Harman target and this is south of that. Personally I am addicted to sets tuned this way, and would have liked more bass on Mega5est 🫣

Not really, even with the switches they cannot sound the same. Many reasons to this, NP have QDC tuning with early Pina gain. There is also BA bass with less sub bass extension. The midrange and treble have softer transients making it less clean than Aehta. Don't have the DTE900 anymore, so...

I bet Aehta vs Titan comes down to preference, got Titan on my wishlist to try. I would also use Aehta for metal over NP, it is more resolving and cleaner with same speed. And its DD bass 😁
