All things ZMF!
First, congratulations on your Aeolus! These are fantastic headphones that will bring you much joy. That is an interesting-looking purple stain. My general opinion is that ZMF headphones are handmade so slight variations are to be expected, but if the stain bothers you then you should talk to...- Odin412

Not much I'm afraid - I listened to it at last year's CanJam SoCal and quickly decided it wasn't for me. Too much treble for my taste, but I'm very treble-sensitive so YMMV.- Odin412

I haven't spent much time with the Bokeh, but I have the Aeolus and I love it. It's a fantastic headphone for sitting back, relaxing and just enjoying the music.- Odin412

ZMF Caldera Closed
This may be a left-field question, but has anyone had a chance to compare the Caldera Closed with the Ori? Zach mentioned the Ori in his Caldera Closed video, which immediately piqued my interest. I still own the Ori that I purchased many years ago and it remains an incredibly enjoyable headphone.- Odin412

Focal Hadenys & Azurys Review & Measurements
The leather on the standard Stellia is so soft that it could easily be made by Hermès. :)- Odin412

The Reference 6SN7 Thread
On my amp (Schiit Lyr 3) I would say that they are more similar than different. I do like the look of the WE6SN7 Plus, though. Also keep in mind that my experiences on the Lyr 3 may or may not translate to your Freya. (However, I did use the CV181-T MkII in my Saga for a long time and I enjoyed...- Odin412

I liked it. I listened to the red album first, and I didn't notice a big change between the red and blue album - except that the tracks on the red album are older and recording technology was simpler at that time, so maybe that could have something to do with it?- Odin412

Good point! I've given up trying to predict amp/tube (or amp/headphone) synergy. The only way to figure out what works well is to try it, IMHO.- Odin412

I generally start listening to the tube right away. I have noticed that it gets a bit getter after a couple of hours, but I don't really notice huge changes after that. Basically, my experience is that if I like a tube from the beginning it gets better with use, but if I don't like a tube (too...- Odin412

If you'd like to try a new-production tube I would recommend a Psvane. I've had good experience with their tubes. A couple of favorites are the CV181-T MkII, the 6SN7-SE 'Tennis Ball' and the UK-6SN7. From what I've read Psvane was started by a few of the folks working at Shuguang, and then a...- Odin412

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
Very interesting article - thanks for sharing! One thing that I've noticed is that when I attend a regular hifi show I am one of the younger attendees, but when I attend CanJam I am one of the older attendees. I prefer the CanJam scene - there's a lot more energy and enthusiasm.- Odin412

To my ears the HD 660 S2 pair really well with the Schiit Lyr 3 amp. Very nice synergy - the midrange is especially captivating to my ears. I was listening to 2023 remix of The Beatles Blue album last night and although I was initially skeptical, I have to say the new mix is very tastefully done...- Odin412

I have both of those tubes and to my ears the Psvane CV181-T MkII is a very nice tube indeed - one of my favorites. The sound of the WE6SN7Plus reminds me of the Psvane tube. The treble on the Linlai E-6SN7 has an unpleasantly sharp edge to my ears, but I'm very treble sensitive so YMMV.- Odin412

New acquisition: Shuguang WE6SN7Plus. No idea about the background of this tube, but it certainly looks interesting. Sounds good too.- Odin412
