    Sennheiser HD 660S2 thread

I picked up the 660S2 on sale for $399, which seemed like a nice promotion, and it gives me all the things I like about the 6 series. It was good enough that I sold my trusty HD650, no regrets. Very happy with these, particularly when discounted from MSRP.

MEZE AUDIO ELITE - The New Isodynamic Hybrid Array Headphone - official thread

Got the new angled alcantara pads on the Elite the other day, love them! My favorite pads for them. Comfort is perfect for me, and the soundstage and bass are a bit better than the regular alcantara pads I had been using.

When do you go from 'enthusiast' or collector to 'hoarder'

Part of the fun is trying new things, different flavors, but there was a point where I had so many headphones and amps and other gear that it was a chore just to decide what to listen to. Like a paralysis of choice. I realized that after a while, when the thrill of new stuff wore off, that I was...

if you only had one headphone to live with the rest of your life, which would it be? from what you currently have

If it's my only can then comfort would be as important as performance. I'd be tempted to say the Elite since for my head it's incredibly comfortable and is a great all-around performer with no terrible/glaring weakness.

HiBy RS2: dual card slots, Darwin R2R, FIR, NOS, MQA 8x--news and impressions thread

My old Fiio M11 handled my entire library with no problem, I just don’t want another android based unit. I do not feel like having to split up my library and decide what can fit and what can’t.

HiBy RS2: dual card slots, Darwin R2R, FIR, NOS, MQA 8x--news and impressions thread

Thx. Yep, I have about 45k songs at this point (all properly tagged) and I know that some players apparently have a hard limit. For example a few models are 20,000 song limit, so presumably at 20,001 that last song never even gets read? Not sure how it works on the RS2. I love the overall specs...

HiBy RS2: dual card slots, Darwin R2R, FIR, NOS, MQA 8x--news and impressions thread

Still trying to confirm this - can anyone verify that the RS2 with the latest firmware can handle 50,000 songs now? I really do not want another android based DAP but most of the smaller non-android based ones are song-limited. Some of the lower Shanling and Hiby models for example can only do...

Shanling M1s Compact Portable Player - Now With Tidal Streaming!

Any chance that this will be updated to allow more than the current 20,000 song limit? Love the form factor so much, just wish it could handle more songs.

HiBy RS2: dual card slots, Darwin R2R, FIR, NOS, MQA 8x--news and impressions thread

Really keen on getting this unit - can anyone confirm that the song limit is now 50,000 after the newest firmware? And does anyone use this with a large library that can comment on how snappy the UI is? I am approaching 50k songs and that could be a deal breaker for me, especially if it is...

    Small DAP recommendation

Thanks, but looks like the AP80 PRO-X still has a 20,000 song limit. :(

    Tinnitus and low level listening

I also have mild tinnitus, and I would think that most any headphone can be an option for you and satisfying at relatively low levels if you like the general sound signature of it. You might want to consider a source that has loudness contours or EQ options to help so that even at low levels you...

    Small DAP recommendation

I have an older Fiio M11 that I really like. I mostly use my larger desktop/home setup, but the DAP is convenient when traveling. But the M11 is simply too chunky. I want to upgrade and really like the tiny form factor of things like the newer Hiby R3 ii and the Shanling M1s. However, despite...

    IEM upgrade suggestions

I've been a fully over-ear headphone user for ages. Can't tolerate on-ear headphones. But I got my first IEM recently to dip my toes into it. I got the Truthear x Crinacle ZERO: RED based on positive reviews and fact that it was really low risk investment into the IEM world. Wow, what a...
