Fostex x Massdrop TH-X00 Review
Not that it matters now since the he-500 is gone, but I have both & they're different sounding cans. For what I imagine one might be able to get the he-500 for, their hard to beat.- shempster

Yea, same issue exactly. I forgot that it looks like the music is still playing in the app but no sound. Definitely think it's an iOS issue.- shempster

I'm having issues also after going to 10.3. Don't think it's a ifi issue but a buggy iOS release. Music stops randomly using Onkyo & Apple music player. Also happens using bluetooth speaker.- shempster

HD800 vs HE500
Don't misunderstand, I really liked the HD800. It clearly is the better phone. If I was wealthier, I'd have kept them in a heartbeat. They just didn't sound $800 or whatever better than my HE500 at this time in my system. I may go WA22 & sometime in the future try out the HD800 again. The...- shempster

HD800 vs HE500
The Lyr/Bifrost obviously wouldn't be my 1st choice for the HD800, however its what I have. There are some here that think the Lyr with good tubes (which I have) is well above its weight - even with the HD800. To me some tracks sounded great with the HD800 - easily besting my HE-500. HD800 vs HE500
Just returned the HD800. Really liked the headphones - comfort & sound they clearly are better to me that my old HE-500s but... they simply didn't sound & feel on my head twice the price & then some, better. I bought the HE-500s right after their price went down to $699 or whatever & let me...- shempster

The (new) HD800 Impressions Thread
Yea its OK, but like someone else said, just play music & listen to them. Mine certainly don't sound bad brand new! Personally, I do think burn in helps, but its not night & day.- shempster

HD800 vs HE500
Got a brand new HD800 today. Thought with only 2 hrs. burn in they sound very good. Even at this time they sound quite a bit better than my 3 year old HE500s not to mention the comfort difference... And they already make my AH-D2000s sound kinda primitive for lack of a better description.- shempster

The (new) HD800 Impressions Thread
Got a brand new HD800 today. Only 2 hrs. listening time so far, sounds good with all genres - no treble issues to my ears & while their obviously not bass monsters, if there's base in the song, they give it to you. As everyone says, they do expose bad recordings. New tubes in my Lyr also...- shempster

Still like your Denon AH-D2000 headphones?
Since someone resurrected this thread, yea, I still like mine. Don't listen to them that much - maybe 25% of time. Not as near refined as my HE500s but as has been said many many times on this site - very comfortable, fun to listen to with just occasional bass bloat. Shame they & the 5000 are...- shempster

Schiit Lyr Tube Rollers
Long time lurker here with maybe a stupid question that gets asked too much, but I've read many, many pages in this & other threads & still don't know whats a decent cheap tube ($75 & under) to roll into my 1st gen Lyr? I would like a larger soundstage/openness and energy. This July will be...- shempster

3rd gen touch LOD
I'm sure this question has been asked before here, but I can't find a 100% sure answer. Does anyone know if the Sendstation PocketDock Line Out USB is compatible with a 3rd gen ipod touch? If not, where can I get something that is? Thanks Shemp- shempster

HD 238's on sale at my best buy?!
I've had these for 3 or 4 months & their pretty good for the money. The difference from these & my d2000's is quite significant - though it should be given the price difference. Shemp- shempster
