The Sennheiser HE1 and how I came back after 16 years hiatus from Headfi (acquisition, unboxing, installation, and impressions over time)

Do you notice any warm up time differences? I know it take about 60 seconds for the start up procedure but do you notice any difference in the sound after a certain amount of time?

@number1sixerfan I recall the bass having very good texture but the mid bass slam was very weak to my ears. I did try to EQ at 32hz & 105hz a few db but it just became really muddy sounding and I had to revert back to stock tuning.

Can someone please remind me what date Hifiman are announcing the new flagship thanks!

Aperio was just a bad listening experience for me. The treble way too forward and I kept having to turn down the volume. The bass was so light that I even tried to EQ some more in and it just became muddy so that wasn't an option. The HE1 had fuller and sweeter vocals, more natural instrument...

The bass is also incredible, it hits like a truck and slams like an LCD 4 which is a miracle imo as its an estat.

Congrats! by far the most natural sounding headphone I have ever heard. Instrument and vocal timbre is just incredible and electric guitars sound so real that it feels like you are listening to them playing in the same room.

For the suspected price of 7-8k for the new flagship I bet a lot of Susvara owners will have to sell their pair to help fund for that new headphone. It's not like it's only 2-3k like the HEKSE which is a more reasonable price.

    Hifiman Mini Shangri-la discussion

Yeah the Jade line has a bad reputation and they wanted a more unified branding line-up for their estats but lets wait for the reviews or hopefully I can listen to it at Canjam London next month to confirm my suspicions.

Looks like a Jade 3 in disguise...

V2 is less detailed than the HEKSE so I put the detail retrieval with the OG Utopia in between those two headphones. Soundstage of Utopia is small but very holographic with better depth than the HEKSE and the width can be expanded with upsampling.

I actually just got the OG Utopia yesterday and my friend will loan me his new Utopia on Monday so I can compare the two. The HEKSE still has a little more detail, more precise imaging than the OG Utopia after some listening but its a completely different sound signature and the OG Utopia...

Yeah it really has 4k worth of technical performance. I had a chance to demo the new Utopia for a few days and that was just a slight more detailed which shows how impressive the HEKSE is for the price.

Price to performance right now with the HEKSE compared to Susvara is crazy. Even if there is no price drop for the Susvara when the new flagship is released I'm sure that Susvara on the used market will be the lowest it's ever been because all those Susvara owners are going to want the new...
