DENAFRIPS Terminator: the King of R2R dac
I wouldn't necessarily go that far in your feelings, but it's hard to argue some points. I personally feel Denafrips make some really great sounding gear and am satisfied with what I have. You just have to be disciplined about falling into the trap of needing the latest and greatest, and being...- sygnus21

Post the last thing you bought. Oh fun!
 I actually looked at the BenQ SW272U|27-inch 4K, which has great reviews and is highly rated for photography work, but it's not a true 10-bit wide gamut monitor as is my NEC which love for its colors, and partly why I got the ColorEdge. All that said, that BenQ SW272U looks like a...- sygnus21

DENAFRIPS Terminator: the King of R2R dac
I don't have the Terminator, but the Pontus II 12th-1, and for me, end game in that by the time I upgrade there, Denafrips will probably be on a Pontus X (10th) edition  On a more serious note, I think Denafrips needs to be careful not to "upgrade" their customers out of existence -...- sygnus21

Post the last thing you bought. Oh fun!
Got it. for the moment I was like wow Sansui is still around making gear. They and Pioneer make some really great gear in the 70's. Anyway, just received my 27-inch 4K Eizo ColorEdge monitor, but won't get it setup till tomorrow due to work being done around the house...- sygnus21

Unveiled: Meet the HD 620S
Thanks. BTW, I don't see the HD620 replacing the (my) HD800S, but I do see them fulfilling a need where you want a "bass" headphone for certain genres. But that assumes the 620S has that type of bass. Still considering the $199-dollar Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro X phones that purpose as well.- sygnus21

What Are You Listening To Right Now?
A classic album. Have it on both CD and vinyl. One of my favorites. -
The Audio Lounge
:relaxed: I can find a few things to complain about, but screws aren't one of them. Nor have I bought gear based on screws. Nor is build quality associated with screws used. The (my) $3800 ($3799) dollar Teac VRDS CD Player / DAC uses rounded screws, like the UD-507; both my Denafrips...- sygnus21

Unveiled: Meet the HD 620S
How's the bass here? I have a pair of Sennheiser HD700 & HD800S in which I'm quite satisfied with their bass response where jazz and rock is concerned but am also looking to find a good pair of phones with a bit more bass for my EDM side of the house. And just FYI, while I acknowledge the...- sygnus21

Is there any differences between Beyerdynamic DT 880 - 32/250/600 ohms?
I cannot answer your question as I'm unfamiliar with any of those headphones. I'm using the Sennheiser HD800S (and HD700). I was just cruising the site and happened in this forum where I saw your posts. Sorry.- sygnus21

What Are You Listening To Right Now?
This is much better.... Miles Davis Jack Johnson (1971). I find it far more engaging and enjoyable vs. On The Corner..... CD ripped to PC in uncompressed FLAC ▶ PC (JRiver Media Center / FLAC files) > Iris DDC > Pontus DAC > Artemis HPA > HD800S -
The Audio Lounge
I just recently (about a month ago) finally retired my UD-503. It got replaced by the Teac VRDS 701 CD player / DAC. Well actually my Denafrips Pontus and Denafrips headphone amp replaced it, but for speaker play, that's where the UD-503 was still useful... until I got the 701 CD player with...- sygnus21

What Are You Listening To Right Now?
Was watching a Steve Guttenberg YouTube video review of the new Denon DP-3000NE turntable, where compared Miles Davis's On The Corner CD to the vinyl version as a quick comparison between his digital setup with Jay's Audio CD Transport and the Denon DP-3000NE turntable. The vinyl with the... -

FLUX Mentor Class-A dual-mono headphone amplifier.
At least you get an option for a remote. With my Denafrips DAC and headphone amp there is no remote option. It's hand or nothing. Meanwhile, with my Teac VRDS 701 CD player / DAC, I use the remote like it's a lost lover I missed  Anyway, nice setup you have there.- sygnus21

What Are You Listening To Right Now?
That's cool. And I take no offense. I was simply replying to what was posted. And agree, not everything is for everyone. And for the record, mine is about CDs. For vinyl, I ain't going through all that :relaxed: Peace :sunglasses: -
Teac UD-701N Discrete DAC / Network / HP Amp / Preamp
I had the UD-503, which just got retired by my purchase of the Teac VRDS 701 CD player with built in Teac Delta-Sigma DAC. Glad to see they included a true balanced headphone connection on the front, instead of the dual 1/4 inch jacks on the UD-503. Hopefully they added some umph to the...- sygnus21

We can agree to disagree since I'm actually doing instead of hypothesizing  And is it really superfluous.... or lack of understanding 🤷♂️ Anyway..... -
What Are You Listening To Right Now?
I have near 3000 CDs and about 900 vinyls, though admittedly about half are on also on CD. That said, I clearly know something about being overwhelmed with the sheer volume of music one has. Some stuff has been a rediscovery, some I'll never play again. One of the benefits of ripping my... -
What Are You Listening To Right Now?
I'm of the opposite as I'm completely confused as to how you guys feel this is hard to do??? I don't mess with files and folders where organizing music is concerned. That's because the CD ripping program - dBpoweramp creates its own folder structure when it rips a CD. All I have to do is point...
