If you are connecting two pieces of Audio GD gears, yes, you may use an HDMI cable. For example, from a DDC such as Di20 or Di24 to R8 or R28- Jandu

I can comment on some of the equipments: I own R28 (1st Gen), Di20He, R8He and HE9 R28 + Di20He is a sizable jump from R28. This is going from good to better. R28 + Di20He to Di20He+R8He is a big jump. This is going from better to best. The above are connected to a speaker system. My...- Jandu

My impression of the changes is likely limited by my systems' bottlenecks and may not be yours. However, for a general change, you may want to read the topic on Di20 and get a general idea of how others who has the unit expressed their opinions and their comparisons to other DDCs...- Jandu

Try a DDC, such as Di24He or Di20He (used) which connects between your source and the R28. One of the best connection methods between the above mentioned DDC & AudioGD DAC is using a short IIS (hdmi) cable.- Jandu

Yes, but only active speakers. Most speakers, non-active type, would required a power source such as amplifier.- Jandu

There are the following options if you want to go SBC direction: C19 digital transport or just a plain raspberry pi with a good power supply. USB signature is a raspberry pi 3 with parts replaced to get better sound quality. C19 is a similar product verified by fellow user to be better...- Jandu

Not sure about that one, but this one works well https://allo.com/sparky-eu/usbridge-signature-pcb.html It would be even better if you have a clean power supply for it- Jandu

To quote from Kingwa(the chief designer of AudioGD): They are not which is better but most different on the flavor and worth to own both just like you own some different headphones. NFB-28 sound detail, dynamic, control but not bright and hash. R28 had the exotic sound quality! Smooth...- Jandu

If your Altera Blaster is detected, you should be able to start the installation process running the Quartus. Try to delete the device driver that windows (default) uses and direct it to use the driver in the Quartus directory.- Jandu

Elekit 300B Amp kit
Not sure I can describe the difference sufficiently to do it justice, since I listen for the music and never try to distinguish between the sources. In my system, I can listen to the headphone from the preamp (SFL3) and get completely into the music much faster. I think the difference is taking...- Jandu

Elekit 300B Amp kit
TU8900, Lundal transformer, 2A3 or 300B, with Senn800S and Focal Clear using Audio GD dac, good performance. Almost as good as Sonic Frontiers Line 3 but since SFL3 is discontinued, I would say, this is really good, considering the entry point for the kit.- Jandu

The only way one can tell is to flash the firmware of choice to the DAC and hear the difference. If you have flashed it once, just pick another/earlier firmware and listen to the music. But if you had tried the latest and you like the quality, it is likely one of the best. To some extent, the...- Jandu

Unless you can find a used Di20He, I think the Di24He will get you the best performance to cost ratio upgrade to the existing system. Time to look for a good short IIS cable to connect the two.- Jandu

Thanks, for taking the time to check it out. In conclusion: Full Sync(Streamer&Di24He&Dac)>DI24He sync with Streamer>no sync. This makes sense. It is also important to note that with a streamer that is capable of taking clock signal, it is worthwhile to sync between streamer and Di24He using...- Jandu

Can you also compare the afterdark clock against the internal 10Mhz clock from the DI24He? This way, we would have the 1, no clock sync, 2, using the DI24He clock to sync and 3, using an Afterdark clock sync. Thanks a lot for your helps.- Jandu

When you have a chance, can you try this and let us know if there is an improvement on the SQ. Use the 10 Mhz out from DI24He and feed it to your c19 digital turntable, in other words, both the DI24He and your c19 source would be using the same clock and let me know if it improves the sound...- Jandu
