Earplugs to lower db that still sound good?

I agree with you, the worst earplugs for music ruin the bass. I found his vid to be pretty helpful but I'm skeptical of how accurate it could possibly be (the article is new to me). The Eargasms sound great, while the Loop Experiences sound better in another vid of his. I have no idea whether...

Earplugs to lower db that still sound good?

I might have to suck it up with the flanges because from reviews and audio tests, the Eargasms & Etymotics are best for music. The Eargasms seem to be noted for avoiding occlusion, which would be effin brilliant - the pair I have now (Hearos, possibly) are occluded to high heaven. It would be so...

Earplugs to lower db that still sound good?

Thanks. I probably should have mentioned wanting something on the cheaper side, otherwise something like Minuendos would have made sense. The pair I have are similar to the Etymotics but likely not as good with regard to the sound - I just don't love the triple flange action.

Earplugs to lower db that still sound good?

I’m on the lookout for a pair of earplugs that attenuate overall volume without coloring music too much - ideally something I can wear in non-concert environments & still engage in discussions. The older I get, the less I can tolerate loud environments; I have NO idea how I spent my 20s in...

Can someone recommend an iPad 1/8" headphone dongle?

Thank you, that's good enough for me, along with the unbeatable price. I won't be mixing on the iPad so the sound doesn't have to be perfect anyway.

Can someone recommend an iPad 1/8" headphone dongle?

Much appreciated, I will read them. I'm looking for a dongle because I want to avoid latency when messing with synths on the iPad. Otherwise I have buds that I'm happy with, for everything except latency. Do you feel it changes the sound of your phones at all?

Can someone recommend an iPad 1/8" headphone dongle?

That would be my first thought but I remember how awful the D/A converter on clickwheel iPods used to be. A simpler mp3 player from a different brand had WAY better sound. Of course this was 20-ish years ago so things may have changed. One of my kids also had a problem with a cheapo one but a...

Can someone recommend an iPad 1/8" headphone dongle?

I've heard that headphone dongles can be really sketchy and I don't want to waste time trying multiple cheapo dongles out. I just need something as the latency with my earbuds is too much for noodling with a synth.

Recommended tips for Beats Fit Pros?

Thank you, I appreciate the response! I ended up liking the stock tips 🤷🏽‍♂️. I thought I'd hate them but they're comfortable and the sound is fantastic.

Recommended tips for Beats Fit Pros?

I've never been a fan of companies like Bose or Beats, whose marketing was better than their audio quality. But I'm the same age as Murtaugh in Lethal Weapon and I'm too old for this ... stuff. And Verizon gave them to me for free and they will solve one problem for me: easily switching between...

Is it expected that memory foam tips will tamp down the highs?

I'm sorry, I didn't receive a notification for this. I bought Symbio Fs and and they were MUCH better. No treble attenuation & comfy overall. I just got the Beats Fits Pros (they were free, I couldn't turn them down) and need to see if the Symbios will work with them.

Need recs for relatively flat phones under $100

...and the K371 is blowing away the K361, both in bass (more, but still tight) and high end (just a touch of air).

Need recs for relatively flat phones under $100

It came down to the AKG K371 & the new Rode NTH-100. The AKG won because my eldest had the K361, which I gave a good long listen to yesterday and loved - analytical but still enjoyable. The low end was not as prominent as my old ATH-m40fs, which is what I imagine the m50x is similar too. The...

Are the pads replaceable? I know AKG doesn't sell replacements but I'm guessing someone else might.

Need recs for relatively flat phones under $100

I started dabbling with making beats again. I don’t have any studio monitors, nor do I plan on getting a pair anytime soon. I need some recs for a solid pair of headphones for under $100. I’m not making music for anyone but myself, so they don’t need to be the most accurate phones ever. But I...

Is it expected that memory foam tips will tamp down the highs?

I just got the Symbios today and wow - what a huge difference from the Complys. I noticed that they surface is smoother and they're a touch more dense, and they were a little more difficult to put on as well. But the high end is SOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH BETTER. Thanks for the rec!

Is it expected that memory foam tips will tamp down the highs?

I will! No idea when the tips will arrive, I chose free shipping from their site so they're mailed into the ether like it was the 1970s.

So the silicones added the treble that I perceived?

btw that's quite a collection of tips you have there, I hope not to match it 😂 (just ordered the Symbios too)

Is it expected that memory foam tips will tamp down the highs?

Thanks - that's very helpful. The music sounds ok so far with the Complys but just not good enough. I might prefer some discomfort in exchange for the clarity. I'm going to try your suggestions.

Is it expected that memory foam tips will tamp down the highs?

I recently got Panasonic RZ-S500W's and I love the sound - good bass, excellent mids, spacious. But the stock tips are uncomfortable, there's no way to wear them for more than an hour (though it does seem to get a bit more tolerable over time). I decided to try Comply TW-400-C's first as I'd...

    Sennheiser HD1 Over-Ear Review

I see this still available on Amazon for $79. Does the mic only work with the cable, or does the cable just provide controls? (ie is the mic built into the 'phones)

How do you know which eartip size is right?

I'm waiting on some Comply's, which I've used before. So used to 2 day delivery that waiting for a week feels like forever.

How do you know which eartip size is right?

Thanks, that will be my next try. I can't believe how achy the current tips are, maybe I shoved the small ones in too much to try to get a seal. fwiw, I have a pair of flanged (I think) decibel reducing earplugs for concerts that are comfortable for hours so I know foam is not the only option.
