I did a bunch of AB tests today to finalise the review of some IEMs. It shocks me how similar most of them sound, with perhaps a bit better stage there, nicer bass here. Too many same same. Perhaps our community needs to recall that our brain can EQ anything and if they want something “cool”...

Maybe have a look at HiBy Project Ace? It biases towards male vocal more than female vocal, which is a bit rare nowadays.

That battery performance does not seem right. Have you tried normal, old charger? Some of these Chifi devices do not work with the new PD standard. Hopefully someone can fix the problem for you. 🗿🗿🗿 Such a handsome device. Is there any problem with sensitivity and low impedance IEM?

Only the highest bass setting seems usable to me.

Is it just me or the idea of listening to softears’ IEMs is better than actually listening to softears’ IEMs? They do have some good IEMs, but I can’t recall any absolute knockout from them

I reviewed the hype2 a few months ago. The bass woofers are lovely. My only concern is that the face plates of the units have pealed off after a returning from a private review tours. Audiophiles baby their gear, so I blame ThieAudio build quality.

I’m listening to this album introduced by Darko. It sounds awesome with W4 and Explorer. The bass is so satisfying. I think this IEM either “scale” with more power or quite transparent to the source. I prefer it with W4 more than R3ii
