FATfreq Impressions Thread - Bass Cannons and More

Great! Glad you got a good fit! I had fit issues and had to send them back for refit. Also, it's probably just the way my ear canals are, but sound changes alot when I'm chewing food. Luckily I don't listen to my CIEM GM much while eating.

Congrats! That's good news. I think they've cleared most of their backlog. 4 weeks is nothing. Let us know when you've received the GM and how you like it!

Eletech Cables Official Impressions & Discussions Thread

Abit random, but wondering whether Eric would be open to the idea of making bracelets out of cables. Non-functional, of course. Simply as an accessory. Meze Audio already does it, but I think Eletech can do better 😝

No, I found MSE too bassy to be balanced.

Expect 2-3 months, which seems to be the standard experience for most here.

    Elysian Annihilator 2023

On the bright side, at least it's only the cable problem 😁 relatively simple fix. I can't imagine how I'd feel if it was an Anni problem.

Is it the scissors method? Thanks, I'll implement that moving forward.

I'm sure the prototype modules will take us by surprise. Would definitely make the GM more interesting value-wise than the MSE. Also, it's safe but still exciting nonetheless 😊 as with all well-done U/V shape tunings.

FATfreq Impressions Thread - Bass Cannons and More

"Nothing else special about it" Definitely see your point there, its basically a balanced, well-tuned, great tech, U/V shaped IEM, subbass mids treble done right. No particular "magic sauce" other than doing everything damn well. But lets wait till the prototype modules come out; lets see...

I have the Azla vivids; how the hell do you put them on!!! Anni's nozzle is crazy thick for the Azla Vivid's nozzle bore. EDIT: Nvm, there must be some Head-fi magic going on. Managed to put them on right after I posted this (and i've been trying for 15 mins previously)

The weird thing about my ear canals is that the Uni GM actually sits slightly deeper than my customs (with certain tips)

FATfreq Impressions Thread - Bass Cannons and More

I actually didn't need to use the vocal switch to get the mids/treble. Those already shine through the bass mode. I supposed its due to fitting, because mine is CIEM, so the sound is consistent with what Fatfreq intended, whereas if you used the Universal, the tips and insertion depth will...

FATfreq Impressions Thread - Bass Cannons and More

I felt the MSE didn't have enough treble sparkle for me compared to the GM, and also the MSE had too much bass that veiled the upper mids (while female vocals on the GM still shine through), but all of this is of course just preferences and library. I would take the MSE over the GM if I listened...

    Elysian Annihilator 2023

I will give them a try! Just hate spending money on tips when I have a reasonable collection already (and also since my main IEM, the GM, is a custom).

    Elysian Annihilator 2023

I dug my eartips collection and found a Spinfit W1 pair. I nearly forgot about them because I hated the sticky material. (the Anni I bought 2nd-hand didn't have the tips included) But I've just tried them with the Anni23 and it's very clear that they aren't coming off at all. I bought the...

    Elysian Annihilator 2023

Just received the Anni 23! Very good complement to my Grand Maestro! Tip rolling is frustrating though! Really hRd to figure out what tips showcases the Anni23's brilliance. Apparently Spinfit W1 but the sticky material doesn't work for me. So far, been switching between AEX07 and...

Some days, I find the Blue module to hit the right spots vs the Black module :relieved: Can't wait for FatFreq to release the prototype modules!

I haven't used the CMA18 myself but there are 2 reasons why I never felt the need to try the CMA18 over my MUB1: 1) MUB1 is cheaper. 2) MUB1 has a screen that shows all your settings (CMA18 looks like I need a PhD to decipher)

I used the Quloos MUB1, drives everything like a champ (apparently even Storm). Great battery life, filters that actually make audible differences, etc.

    FatFreq Grand Maestro

Its arrived today. Apparently there was some earwax stuck in the vents (not sure how earwax could get there, let alone get stuck inside, but okay). Anyways, they put a filter over the vents to ensure nothing else falls inside. Hope this doesn't affect the venting system (they said it won't)...
