Hey Todd, since your the master of your domain

I was wondering if you could advise me to whether or not i should purchase a new cartridge for this turntable, i currently have a Stanton 500 cartridge and was wondering whether or not the Grado Black cart would be an improvement over the Stanton. Any advice would be appreciated

Maybe a new turntable is in order?

Probably not... I believe the Stanton 500-series is about on the sonic level of the Grado Black (and is probably more rugged and durable as well). The Grado Black will be warmer in the midrange, vs. the Stantons which are warm in mid-bass... otherwise they are roughly comparable in quality.

A new turntable is "always" in order for better SQ...

. Or you could just get a new stylus/needle for the Stanton and be happy.

I believe me and my wallet are in agreement: "Buy a MMF turntable for X-mas!"
