Too bad we couldn't just split it like we did the tubes 😛
We could if we each buy one. They are practically half off retail anyway, so if we split the cost of a new one we each end up with a Nautilus of our own

Lol. Smaaart.

True, they are going for great prices. Like I said, I'm still thinking! Need to get creative here....

🤣 it happens! I just got the Mogwai but I'm still thinking about one of those two Nautilus' for sale... :eyes:

I have the Forge and have no desire to upgrade. That amp is just ridiculously good for the money I paid for it

The forge was my first Ampsandsound amp! Loved that thing. What a beefy, powerful sound.

Indeed! I rolled some NOS 5691 and TAD KT66 to give it some classic tube vocal realism without sacrificing power and speed that much. Very versatile amp indeed

Leeloo arrived - posting a pic here because it's literally a Pendant SE.

Looking slick with that black G73-R!
Why thank you. I'm building an ANK DAC1.1x tube DAC next to replace the Pontus/Iris combo. I already have some upgrade tubes ordered for that. Hoping it'll take up a little less space and add a little something to the setup.

Warming up the pendant on a cool PNW evening. Magic. Can't stop listening to these Sylvania Black Plates. I ordeered another pair from the same seller. Only downside is a *very* slight transformer hum in the right channel, but it virtually disappears when the music plays. I'm kinda hoping this new pair is silent.

Lovely pic! If I didn't know better I'd say it looks like Fall out of your window :maple_leaf::fallen_leaf:

Are those tubes expensive? If I still had my Pendant I'd definitely pick up a pair just on your recommendation. I was really happy with the Valvos but always nice having different flavors handy. Enjoy...🎶

They’re cheap! You can find them around $50/pair. Much cleaner sound than the more forward and slightly grainy Valvos. The Valvos are a little closer in stage-wise, with noticeably more bass, but these have such a natural midrange that’s not forced and is perfectly present. Not too bright at all, which is what I was expecting to hear when I bought them.

I'm enjoying my Tungsrams quite a bit with the G73-R and the U709s. They're not $50 for a pair though

I definitely would have bought a pair at that price. Though I never thought the Valvos were grainy, and to me they had as big a soundstage as I'd heard from the Pendant. Definitely fuller sounding, compared to something like Funkwerk or the Russian 6P14P. I absolutely loved them

There’s also big differences in the year / factory of production with the Valvos as well

Very true. I had pairs of 1954, 1957 and 1958. All were different sounding to a degree. However I don't recall any of them sounding grainy to my ears. I think I liked the 57s the best, actually. Not as lush as the 54 elliptical getter.
