I'm glad you said it. It took all my strength to not say something about that Vali 3 abomination! :D

** I wouldn't be surprised if Jason demanded its immediate return to the mothership in Texas.
... or Jason would invoke the Mission Impossible clause: " ... will disavow any knowledge of your actions". 🤔

Man, as I sit here with an Oregon BiB Rye in my glass, listening to James/Sanborn 'Double Vision' 24/192 via Qobuz through my Gumby, I wonder how the Yggy can be twice as good. The Gumby rocks!

Tonight's non-Jazz recommendation.

This is Shoes' inaugural album. Recorded on a 4-track reel-to-reel in a living room and intended to be demo tracks, it was picked up and released as-is rendering a catchy, unpolished, visceral garage-band experience. I love this album as it just 4 guys doing what they love with what they have and sounding great while doing it in an unpretentious way. It's just a FUN listen!

Thank you Ripper! Awesome!

.... deja vu all over again .... remember the GE 5998A saga? .... well reviewed positively by the Ripper .... liked by you & others (me too) .... 🤷🏻‍♂️
I do. I went and bought one because of you guys. It arrived with a 30% GM difference between the triodes. Complained to the seller, he told me to keep it and sent me another one. It had a 25% difference. Sigh. I didn't perceive any channel imbalance when listening despite that, and to each his own of course but it just didn't light my fire. I will give the 5670 a fair chance, and it has the advantage of lowered expectations going in. 🤣

I prefer the Gumby in some ways so twice as good does not equate for me. I will get the rye next chance I get but for tonight some Colorado Tin Cup reminds me a lot of Noah’s Mill so I am loving it.🤪 Can a whiskey be twice as good as product produced by the same distillery? Will a 14 year old be remarkably better than a ten year old.🤪

.... did you run out to measure? 👍🤣
LOL! Nope, I turned around and went back inside. He was sunning him/herself. We have a lot of experience here, kinda like NC BBQ. We know a 13 ft gator when we see one. Tip for all you newbies. If being chased by a gator, don't try to out run it. You'll lose. Instead zig/zag and you'll have a much better chance..... LOL

I will make a note of that just in case.😁 I may have learned something similar in my early American football days.

Dang it! I may have screwed myself. I have no streaming services at all, but I want to listen to Rippers non jazz recommendation.....
Crap!
I have so much music I want to hear, and recommendations coming from so many directions that I tend to make my own choices for the most part. Often I am trying to let my wife enjoy it as well and she is not a fan of jazz. Fortunately we agree on other music.🤪 She is also a good sport if I demo Daft Punk and such.

.... not only that: how many college term papers were fueled by cold leftover pizza (washed down with vodka screwdriver)? .... 🤔📜 ....
Things are getting so unromantic these days, with college term papers being now fueled by big AI server farms :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I do get around I suppose. Only the best people get purple interconnects from me. I will send this Amperex to you early next week. Something you might like if you have Qobuz is 1964 in 50 albums. Song for my Father by Horace Silver Quintet may become a test song for me. Some Kinks, Beach Boys, Beatles, Dylan, Getz, Hancock, Simone.... quite a compilation.

Oh and my work with this tiger maple will go to someone other than Cowen once I pay his usage tax and other fees.😁IMG_7920.jpeg
No way, I was literally listening to Herbie's Cantaloupe Island on that Qobuz playlist as I read your post!

Still never listened to Daft Punk. Lol! Same problem as you! So many directions! That Ripper guy is pretty fun! I love that you just listened to Days of Future Passed! Lately, been Tangerine Dream.... you name it!
