I won't lie: for me, the ivory + brown colour scheme was a feature not a bug. They're far from the most accurate or resolving headphones I own, but the voicing is fun ... and so is the retrolicious style.
So back on the (off)topic of the thread, I guess we're waiting for an ice cream sandwich edition HD599.
Hmm maybe syncing three devices so that they are playing the same song at the same time, and then have a pair of hd599 as the ice cream between two other sets of black (premium) headphones to create a headphone ice cream sandwich. The triple layers of sound would surely delivery a mouthwatering chomp.
