ZMF Atrium - new open-back co-flagship
In fact, and although the Caldera ultra perf are also good, I prefer the Universe lamb perf on the atrium. The Caldera ultra are a little more neutral and less enveloping but retain most of the character of the Universe pad. In principle it is good to have both, if you really dare to go for a...- Deleeh

GUSTARD DAC-R26 Balanced Decoder R2R+1Bit Dual Native Decoding Music Bridge
I also have this problem when I use the Singxer Su 2 and switch to external. Sometimes the R26 brings ext.err. after switching on. When I switch it on/off it sometimes switches. I have found that this usually only occurs when nos/pcm is on and dsd is off. Also, when it brings ect.err the K2 is...- Deleeh

The (Un)Official Amp Thread For ZMF Headphones
I use the Feliks Euforia (OTL) and a Tc amplifier from an Australian amp builder. The Australian amp is very versatile, even more versatile than the Aegis but never mind. I use it mainly for the Atrium but also Auteur classic. Also because it has more power and handles certain things better. The...- Deleeh

Hello, I've extended my Ez81 stock and today the Ez81 Telefunken arrived. I bought it on Ebay for 16€. I plugged it in a few minutes ago after cleaning and it sounds great at first. As you can see, there's no need to spend a fortune on top-class rectifiers, just be...- Deleeh

@crakers7 Nice collection, there are a few good ones. What do you think of the Kt88 winged C from Svetlana? I haven't yet found the right driver tube that would fit. I find the EL34 Winged C from Svetlana much livelier and more open when I hear them both. I was wondering whether the KT88...- Deleeh

Thanks for the info. Do you think the Vcap Odam's or CuTF go one step further on such things? I'm just asking from your personal point of view. Amazing that Cayin has found a way that is very close to your soundsignature in DIY version. I would have guessed that your DIY version goes at least...- Deleeh

Does the Zmf Aegis also use jupiter caps or others? The question has somehow not yet been answered. This is always important to me when I buy amplifiers. In case I do need to invest :-).- Deleeh

As far as I know not, they were supposedly independent EL84s from Hitachi. Also from Toshiba, as far as I know they were made by Matsushida for the 2, I don't think Nec made any if they are branded and could be from Mullard. There are some Japanese and beautiful rarities to discover in this...- Deleeh

The Russian EL84‘s are nowhere near as good as what you'll find from EL84’s, even Tungsram's sound great and a lot better. If you can find EL84 Hitachi at a good price you will compete with the Mullards. They are slightly better in all areas. I still have Rca of EL84s, unfortunately I only got...- Deleeh

You are right that the Vcaps are expensive, the price hurts for a few. However, once you have heard them after more than 400 hours of burn-in, you forget the price relatively quickly. That was the case with the Ultimate, as well as the Euforia, where I installed the TFTF and then had the Odam's...- Deleeh

I was really lucky with the CuTf, although it is quite heavy in terms of weight. I had to connect it to the Mundorf so that it didn't hang down. A nice picture of the caps, the Audio Note copper is still missing. The Mc Chanson badge also looks very good.  :thumbsup...- Deleeh

The caps are actually easy to solder. You'd be surprised how easy it actually is once you get the hang of it. With the Junior it actually went quite well, only the cap itself was a bit bigger than everything else, but it worked. A good soldering iron where you can set the temperature would be...- Deleeh

Which 12Ax7 do you have in it? Ultimate is definitely made to drive the Suvara with ease, if necessary there is plan B. 12 o'clock at noon with the potentiometer with Suvara shows how to drive it. At 9 o'clock Atrium is the end with Auteur it goes a bit further. Have fun with Eric, but you...- Deleeh

Can only speak here mainly for high-cushion headphones like Zmf and perhaps even heavier riding ones like Suvara. But the results of large output tubes like KT88,EL81 made a remarkable impression with 12Ax7. I have to try other output tubes like EL38,KT63/66 maybe EL32. It changes the whole...- Deleeh

Hmm Okay, then I would actually have to buy the 6sn7 to 6J5 and 6v6 to 6j5 adapter to be able to use 6v6 or 6K6. I thought there was something a bit lower. This type 37 doesn't look too bad either, but again it needs an adapter. Thanks @UntilThen and @g0ldl10n- Deleeh

Hey Matt, yes, the 6BQ7A are really very good. I will certainly buy some more. Since you're going to Eric's soon, can I ask you to ask Eric if there's a lower gain driver tube that's below 12Au7/6Sn7 that would be driveable in the Ultimate? 6922 don't sound as good, the stage is narrow but everything is a bit more intimate. Is a reputable dealer in the USA. I bought rectifier tubes from him in top condition. I didn't even have to clean them.
