The PhoenixNET will make gains from a K50 even more profound. But it will do that as well for your K21, but it can't undo all the harm that your current server does to the music.
Probably not.
The harm may be less than my current setup.
[Hoping for]... a noticeable improvement.

Edit:
I'm not sure what I was meaning. Sounds a bit dismissive; not the intention.
That's better. Remove the first statement.

I have a Paul Pang Audio OCXO Quad Switch that has a five rail linear power supply. I’ve tried others over the years and to me this sounds the best in my system.

And reading through the review of the Oladra, it seems to take the same path as what I said originally earlier today about what happens when you go up the chain. Some people might take that review as an upgrade, I would take it as a disappointment. Of course that’s based on my own musical taste, the music you listen to, and your associated equipment.

He was one of the first to introduce an audiophile switch. I actually owned his first one for a while. Very subtle improvement but I used the stock SMPS. His subsequent switches apparently got a lot better.

It's been my impression that reviewers hold flagship products to a higher standard than more affordable models. It's pretty natural to do that as we expect near perfection for the top-of-the-line model.

The G4 upgrade for a K50 G2 brought one of the most significant improvements that I've heard in my many decades in this hobby. The Oladra must be very special for it to improve on that.

Andreas replied to an email of mine when I had some questions and he did mention that when going through MPSX via server it is best to use USB between server and MPSX so that the MPD8 DAC's internal master clock is used rather than the servers.
To follow the advice of Andreas you could even think about replacing the MPSX by the less expensive USB-X4 which seems to be via USB as good as the MPSX.

Late to the party on the AMSv5 upgrade but really liking it. I needed to try the newer 5.4.0 HQPlayer available in AMSv5 that is why I jumped the gun to see how PCM upsampled files sound on a new Dac I am testing. Zero issues of using AMSv5 over the last couple of days so hope it continues.

Same, no issues. TBH it hasn't really been something I've been waiting for, just a slightly different aesthetic. I sent my K50 G3 away on AMSv4 and it came back with v5, not sure if they've released it publicly yet?

After playing HQPlayer upsampling files to a new Dac I am testing and then playing the same flac files with Squeeze using the same Dac I prefer the sound of Squeeze non upsampled. To me Squeeze still rules but I have heard roon is catching but not tried so may give that a go as I have a lifetime subscription.

I tried both again when G4 came back, still prefer Squeeze SQ. Roon's the nicer format and good discovery but Squeeze with Qobuz work's fine for me. Probably all very system dependant tbh as Squeeze / Roon do sound a little different from each other. It's also nice having preference for Squeeze with the attention antipodes are giving it for the future.
