Hiby R6 Pro - serious upgrade to popular DAP

You can easily calculate the output power from the figures on their specs page.
KANN: 7vrms calculates to approx 1500mW @ 32ohms
R6 Pro: 750mW@32 is approx 4.9vrms
That's silly. By the same logic, it would output 49,000mW directly into a 1 ohm load?

Well, finally found a site with measurements of it
https://reference-audio-analyzer.pro/en/report/amp/astell-kern-kann-balanced.php

They only found it capable of 5.54V RMS and its maximum power achieved putting 460mW into a 62.4ohm load (which computes to 5.35V, so not capable of max voltage at 62.4ohm and certainly not 32ohm)

No measurements for the R6 there, but for e.g. FiiO reported max power of 400mW for its X7 II and the site measured 362mW. So while not jiving with the official figures 100% it is a much closer match when official figures include direct power / mW results, instead of only voltage results.

By their own figures om their own website about the KANN, they state 7Vrms without load. But they don't state how much amps the power circuit can handle, nor the THD. And I would guess it would not be stable at 1ohm load. The internals are probably not built as beefy as a car amp that can handle low impedence as 2-1 ohms, or sub 1ohm.

This just proves that A&K is no better than anyone else, and not referring to real life measurements. But thanks for the measurements to clarify.

In which century this player will be released? Jesus...
When? I would like to know too. I guess you would know in this thread as soon as anything pops up.

Hiby has themself stated late November, then December, and recently soon. Hiby just released the product page on their website. It could be to indicate within the near future, or to keep the interest up for their upcoming product.

Yep, surely we are close to the release announcement date. I would update this info right after getting the news.

Launching soon. Yeah. Soon (tm).
Should the Christmas themed ad give a hint?

Well, if it's any indication - on the Chinese side of the Hiby site there is already a link to purchase (or maybe it's pre-ordering?) along with a price of 4498 Yuan which is ~$650: https://item.jd.com/38658407384.html

Hopefully this is indicative that they are coming soon.

Still have not seen an answer to my question about both DAC's fully employed for all audio processing and not just the balanced out. Hiby/@fanoble/Joe - how about some clarification on this?

Cheers,
Tim

Maybe 650$ it’s really indicative of final price cause in the same web Hiby R6 alu is selling for 3298 Yuan which is 477$ (R6 alu is 455$ at Hiby’s web)
