Anyone heard this here before?

Been an hardcore fan of Talpa ever since he released his first album. Altho I didn't like his "sequel" as much as the original, it's still killer psytrance in my book.

But the original... maaan... hehe Still listen to it these days in my car

^COOL-Agree Very melodic trance

Kino Oko - Alphabetically divided highway 2008
- Very experimental with beautiful piano and many special twists

Battle Of The Future Buddhas - Demonoizer
- A Swedish hypnotic psytrance band, its really love or hate but the guys know what their doing. took me some years to really enjoy it.

Rip Van Hippy and Rie Lambdoll - Searching For Love 2008
-Rip from finland and Rie from china that sings makes a special album that is calm and more on the ambient side.

Space Tribe Vs Electric Universe - Absolut Adult Horror
-The most energizing, electric album ever made IMO, it really lifts me up

Pleiadians - IFO (identified flying object)
- PURE GOA. Very good goa album with many original goa sounds

Juno Reactor - Labyrinth (2004)
-"Classic" tribal dance/trance album. Very high quality

Chi-A.D. - Virtual Spirit
-I Love Chi AD. This album makes me cry(almost) it touches something deep inside

Never heard of this genre or any music mentioned here. However, just checked out the few recommendations from this thread.
Astral Projection has pretty much knocked my socks off! Some of the tracks sound so awesome from my SE530...
And I come from a background of death/prog/thrash metal.

free FLAC psy here:

here's where the Entheos Audio Archive 2.0 is: (VA, all psytrance)
http://www.ektoplazm.com/free-music/...io-archive-20/
Entheos Archive 1.0 (VA, downtempo, ANAHATA on here)

Some random free stuff:
http://www.ektoplazm.com/articles/th...rance-of-2008/

as for random recommendations, see below:
Ooze, where the fields never end (downtempo psy)
VA - About Time (2008 meld of progressive/full-on/ psy that is the most common style of psytrance these days --dark is more its own category, goa seems like mostly an older style)
MOOD DELUXE (the hallucinogen of psy-breaks)
also Morphonix (psy downtempo breaks) & far too loud (psybreaks)
Shen - Outlines (laid out downbeats)
Spoonbill (undefinable, triphop, IDM)
SPACE TRIBE VS ELECTRIC UNIVERSE - ELECTRIC SPACE PHENOMENON (full-on psytrance)
Ace Ventura (progressive psy)
edit - Certified Air Raid Material (glitch hop, dubstep)
VIBESQUAD (funky, glitch, dubstep, crunkadelic)

Will post again after reading the whole thread.

Hippie Tom, WORD to the Talpa reccomendation
I've been a huge fan of the first album when it came out.
killer taste bro

Theyre fon the Sundance label...
same label as Nystagmus, aka the dope downtempo/progressive act ANAHATA (one of my favorite live acts)

Ok, here we go with the psy...
-Procs (some jazz elements)
-Transdriver (russian)
-Electrypnose (the electronic hypnotist)
-VA - Omnipresence (2008l)
-VA - Vibraspirit 11.23 (uplifting psytrance, terrafractyl track is exceptional)
-Abomination - Planet X (2008- darker psytrance)
-Bliss-The Looney Bin (2008- hard hitting full-on, more wild than dark, remixes the south park theme song, gotta check it out)
-oood - Fourthought (hmm a godfather of psy-trance with new album in 2008)
-Eat Static - Back to Earth (another godfather's newest offering in 2008)
-VA - Divine Interventions (2008. west coast)
-Chromosome - DMT Cowboys (2008-shpongle like psytrance landscape)
Blanka - Freeflow (2008-awesome, buddy's fourth album)
Space Tribe - Through the Looking Glass, (my fave space tribe album.. i'm not liking the newest one much yet)
Mr Peculiar
Cosmosis (from Phantasm records, same as Bliss.. Cosmosis is another godfather of psytrance along with hallucinogen etc)
Rastaliens
ARTIFAKT (Timecode Records)
Oh and if you can find the newest Anahata album i think it might be in 5.1 surround,
also another buddy told me that either Electric Universe - Cosmic Experience & -Silence In Action was released in 5.1 too
(both which are highly recommended full-on psy trance)
that's prbly a good start

psy, breaks, jazz, trip hop..
Mood Deluxe (psytrance, breakbeat)
Vibesquad-Basslove, (breakbeat, organic, advanced dubstep)
Spoonbill (trip hop, glitch, IDM)
Killowatts-Groundstate (downtempo, dub, breaks)

and if you want music that is even more glitchy, and dubsteppy- Glitch Mob, Bassnectar, Bil Bless, Breakbeat Buddha
I'm more into so-called 'advanced' dubstep than your classic dubstep Skream, Distance, Benga, etc. I'm not the best person for recommending classic dubstep

For Downtempo, a lot of the downtempo acts in my first post, as well as..
Similar to shpongle, shulman ,entheogenic etc:
Slackbaba (uptempo, more like Entheogenic - from Liquid Records, same as Mood Deluxe)
Androcell (entheogenic feel too)
Phuture Primitive (similar to entheogetic)
Bluetech

in the same category//
Chillosophy Vol.2 (the whole series as well)
ABAKUS-That Much Closer to the Sun
Luage-Sundays (2008-chillum, all of these are haha)
Ailo-Concepts
Adham Shaikh - Fusion , Collectivity (ethnic influence. local guy, sonicturtle.com)
VA - Soul Vibration 1 & 2
Nagual Sound Experiment (same guy from Mood Deluxe, darker downtempo)

Ambient...
Ishq is probably the premier ambient artist I canthink of, aka Matt Hillier: aka Ishvara, Elve, Colourform
I don't listen to too much ambient, I don't have patience for drone

hm record labels..
Aleph Zero Records have lots of compilations with crispy chilled downtempo, also somnia for more psy-bient
newer Timecode Records compilations (tweaked psy-trance)
Liquid Sound Design for dubby downtempo
Interchill Records for ethnic influenced dubby downtempo (where Bluetech got his start)

I'll be watching this thread. I've always wanted to add more to my collection than Infected Mushroom (I love all their albums) and Juno Reactor. I tried listening to Schpongle multiple times past few years and just never could get into them. The others listed here, will have to check out.

Happy that this thread is getting good responses.

IronDreamer,
I reccommend that you check out Electric Universe & Space Tribe for good full-on psytrance,
anything they touch turns to full-on gold

//

What I bolded in my last post is a newish style I'm interested in that's coming out, my buddy called it advanced dubstep
If you guys know of anything else that sounds like that, let me know

Some other similar names I like are
Hedflux (psybreaks),
16 Bit,
Bil Bless
The Disciple Grin
Skeetaz (Bil Bless & Kilowatts collab)
EPROM
Rustie

Oh I like those two songs.

With Astral Projection and Infected Mushroom, I do like GMS, Talamasca, Neuromotor, and I guess I'm another Hallucinogen fan. I think GMS has that Astral Projection sound because I haven't really been falling for how Psy/Goa has been going lately.

Gaudium - So Called Life (2007)

I found Matt Hillier recently and wow.. he's been there for sure. massive artistry.

and Nagual... amazing. what else sounds like him aside from Mood Deluxe??

Mar 5, 2009 at 10:33 PM Post #27 of 195
aside from Mood Deluxe? hahaha well Mood Deluxe is impressive in itself.
Morphonix - Off the Grid (2008) sounds a little similar to Nagual

Also considering the gangster lyrics and the reggae dancehall feel on 'Frontier':
#1)Breakbeat Buddha
#2)Glitch Mob, specifically the member named Kraddy

Considering the skanky ass ethnofunk:
Bassnectar-Mesmerizing the Ultra

Considering the dub feel:
RND - Ask the Dust

Considering the chill funk dribble beats:
Killowatts - Groundstate

mmk, if you like the track Black Lodge Dub, you'll like
VA - Bay Area Dubstep

Also try searching for Nagual Sound Experiment on this site: http://psyshop.com/
there's plenty of compilations with NSE tracks not on the one CD

Just a quick look, maybe I'll give further consideration on the weekend.

heh yeah well Mood Deluxe is a given... I'm not often in that mood, but he's awesome when I'm there.

I tried Abakas - We Share the Same Dreams but.. ugh.. so much highend and so piercingly produced... seeking out Closer to the Sun now.. hope it is a different sonic vibe. edit: Closer... it's a different sound but.. the production still turns me off. not really my thing I guess.

I'm loving Slackbaba - And the Beat Goes Om... I felt that Bluetech is not quite "there" but.. Slackbaba for sure is! after finishing the album.. loved the whole ride! definitely a keeper.

also found Anahata - Unmade Sound.. from the first track, it is beautiful!

Killowatts - Ground State... inspiring grooves, and every time it evolves into something more

Hi Dreamwhisper .
have been a Goa fan as long as i remember but the 2-3 last years i have been finding great other genres an bands like Mood deluxe, Juju space jazz, younger brother, daheen etc.. Do you have some more cds to recommend in this genre/soundstyle? Juju and YB is playing all the time this days. and talpa offcource.

I will recommend another finnish album. Not a good overall album but some tracks are great i think. Like the Hostage Situation track. It takes off in suomi style.

Various Artists / Mixed By Sharaku (6 Dimension Soundz )
