Apple 3.5mm to USB adapter for $9. I just sold a KZ PR3 yesterday and it's all the power you'll ever need for IEMs. The Soundblaster X1 ($45-$50) is also really good, it outputs 2.4v when it detects 120ohm+ so it can power many headphones as well. The Tanchjim Space measures and performs really well on the 4.4mm balanced side ($70-$80 depending on sale prices). Just go with the Apple adapter and save a bundle (U.S. version has twice the power of the EU version).
It is funny how I already found my btr3k lacking with the PR3 when it has like double the power of the Apple dongle? It really makes me wonder if you ever heard the PR3 on a proper dac that puts out at least a 100mW?
Or is my case such a edge case? Like it really makes me curious to know if there is a scientific way to measure when a dongle is powerful enough to properly drive a IEM (not just volume but impact and coherency as well).
