Hi,
Does anyone heard of Sony D-303 Discman?? How;s the sound quality?? My friend got one and he wants to sell it to me. It's like a tank and solidly built.

I've got two of them. You're right, it's build quality is one of the best.

It sounds great to me but I've never directly a/b'd it with anything else. It also has optical out, which is nice if you ever want to record MD's or add a DAC to it.

Battery life is really bad with it, so as a true portable, unless you've got a backpack full of batteries, it's not practical. Make sure you get a 9 volt adaptor for it. Also, it doesn't have skip protection, so again, not recommended as a true portable.

It's also a ten year old machine, so make sure you check it out with several discs to make sure it works properly and doesn't skip.

In good condition they sell from $100 to $150 on E-Bay.
