Gobi Manchurian

This is deep fried cauliflower and it’s an Indian Chinese food dish

Most people don’t know this but India has their own version of Chinese food. What makes Indian Chinese food different from Americanized Chinese food is that it’s usually more spicy

Indian Toast

Contrary to popular belief, India does have western style foods like toast. This version has some type of spicy sauce and covered with western style shredded cheese

Keep in mind that Korean/ Japanese sweet potatoes are a white color instead of the orange color you normally see in American supermarkets.

BBQ sauce burger Oklahoma smash style

This is a variation of the Oklahoma style smash burger and it has bbq sauce and topped with a onion ring inside and bacon

Wow. Incredible balance. So far the best burger I’ve had this year. Look at the perfect charred meat on this burger. The perfect crispy edges.
I’m rarely impressed with burgers but this was amazing with a high level of refinement

Oxtail (American version)

Oxtail is usually thought of as a Jamaican dish or Asian and also in some parts of Spain oxtail is served

Oxtail is also an American dish too but it is very rare to see and most Americans have never heard of the American version

This was an excellent dish and I’m kinda shocked that it’s not widely known in America

Chinese lamb barbecue

Wow. Excellent. I would say this grilled meat dish was better than most steaks at fancy expensive American steakhouses. It’s that excellent

Chendu spicy cold noodles

This was an amazing version of Chinese cold noodles. The noodles had that perfect texture and flavors had a great balance. Cold noodles are so underrated. They can be so good

Taiwanese Beef Roll

It’s kind of rare to find Taiwanese food here in America but I’m a fan.
This was made of a crispy crepe like pancake with beef inside. Loved the delicate crispy texture. Another great dish!

Sichuan thick and chewy spicy garlicky noodles

These noodles have such an amazing texture. Thick and chewy but not too chewy and strikes the perfect balance of texture. The flavor was fantastic and also well balanced too. Spicy and garlicky but not going overboard.

Also the noodles were house made and hand cut with slightly uneven widths to make the texture more natural. The people at the table next to me also had the same dish and they also loved it as I eaves dropped on their conversation.

Vietnamese Bahn Mi

The Vietnamese bahn mi sandwiches have exploded in popularity. This was a lovely version from a casual Vietnamese cafe.

Steak Fajitas

Finally a really good version! Every time I’ve had fajitas in the past they were just ok but nothing special or tasted like fast food versions of Tex Mex foods but the version I had last night was a proper version and memorable meal.

You eat it by wrapping the meat in the flour tortillas and I liked how it came with the whipped butter sauce. I didn’t ask the waitress but these flour tortillas tasted like a high quality house made version. It was much better than the tortillas you find in other restaurants.

Interestingly, when you wrap the meat in the flour tortillas, it kind of does resemble a Middle Eastern pita bread sandwich- somewhat like a shawarma but a different flavor profile. It would be interesting if a restaurant made a hybrid version using Tex Mex and Middle Eastern flavors.
