Acoustic Alchemy...

Having not listened to any Alchemy since basically getting them, last week while cruising my library, I stopped at Radio Contact see if I was missing anything. What I came away with was "What a beautiful album". After listening to both Early Alchemy, and The New Edge, I now finish off with Aart....

The only thing that changed is singular to plural - what beautiful albums. Their style is smooth jazz / new age. The core of the sound are the guitars of Nick Webb (ultimately replaced by Miles Gilderdale - Aart, Radio Contact)) Steel String guitar, and Greg Carmichael on nylon string guitar, of which conveys a great sense of depth and emotion.

They're now a main stay in my play list. Yet another reason I ripped my collection.... the rediscoveries.
Thanks @sygnus21 , they were off my radar, and they are fabulous!👍🙏😄

I still maintain that Seven Stones is one of the most epic prog rock songs of all time ...

I agree 100% - It sure is! :beerchug:  What an overlooked masterpiece, but with things like 'The Musical Box', this was top-heavy with masterpieces. I even overlooked it for years after I got the album, but it finally got through and worked its magic.

So I've had my current Head-Fi setup for 12-18 months (depending which specific piece of gear we're talking about) now, and I've listened to this album numerous times via streaming platform - both Spotify and Deezer.

But ... this is the first time I'm listening to the old CD I bought sometime back in the late 80s or early 90s. Definitely a different master. The CD version sounds much "thicker" with more propensity to make my planars growl (in a good way).
