Not in a position to go for any of the Friday drop models, but damnit, I sure know which one would be my pick… 🤩

Haven’t bought a ZMF in a few years…do these still sell out instantly when posted? Hoping to grab a pair on Friday
Many of them probably will - seems like there are often a few models hanging around a bit but if you're eyeing something specific, assume you need to be there at the bell.

Pretty much. They sell out pretty quick. ZMF is supposed to post pics of the units that will be for sale sometime tomorrow. I would recommend choosing a top 3 (or even a top 5 🤣). That way you have backups in case your first choice is gone quick.

Thanks both! Sounds like I need to be there right on time haha. Do you know if they limit to one stabilized per person? I think that was also a thing in the past...was hoping to grab an AC and Caldera if I'm quick enough

We no longer have limits on the stabilized purchases. 😎

I think Oiseau would be my pick of the batch. I would appreciate it if someone could grab this immediately so I'm not tempted to 🫠

Question for the group concerning wood types vs sound. Throughout this thread there have been discussion about this and I have a good sense of what soft wood does in terms of bass notes, decay etc. vs. hardwoods having a tighter low end and a bit more energy up top. That said, anyone haven experience with a very soft wood stabilized? In terms of sound, would this stabilization offset the porous, softness of the wood? Maybe landing somewhere in the middle?? Any thoughts to any of this?

Most stabilised variants are maple, sometimes oak. I havent seen a soft stabilised wood variant yet I believe. Stabilised ZMF are usually compareable with hardwood variants.

After trying stabilised wood AC and soft Redwood burl, for me it was Redwood burl hands down, there is some very special magic going on with soft woods and closed cups.
