SONY NW-ZX700

Just wondering what audio setting people use on the Walkman, I have just received mine and I have finished debloating google and was curious on how people set the unit up. I am using Tidal and Senniehauser IEM 600 with it.
I buy 90% of the music so I mostly use Sony's app.
I also have Tidal and Apple Music, but that's more for testing new albums before buying (or listening to stuff that are impossible to find to buy).

If HR or DSD, I use Direct.
If CD and rarely compressed (cough iTunes, cough), I use DSEE
High gain on, balanced

Sometimes I'm in the mood to use the DSD Remastering.

I am having trouble transferring music to the unit using the Sony music app. It says it has been transferred but it is noon on the unit. I am confused. Any help would be appreciated.
Use a computer, if on a Mac can use android transfer app.

Definitely buy a SD card adapter before dealing with that crap.

Don’t forget to put the music on the Music folder!

If using a microSD card, much simpler to take the microSD card out, and put it into a card reader, plug it into a PC to do the transfer. All music must go into the "music" folder, whether it is internal memory or microSD card, as Sony only scans music from this folder.

Six months after purchase in Japan, I now enjoy my ZX707 with a Focal Elegia w/ Maze balanced 4.4mm. Good combo, even if some EQ and running-in needed.

And to answer posts above, no issue with Android File Transfer on Mac (not the app of the decade neither).

Quick question, is the output for the zx707 able to do what the chord mojo 2 does? Running the HD700 and Ibasso SR3. I had the 507 that struggled with the LCDi4. But I'm not powering the LCDi4 anymore with daps. I realise they are completely different but if a nice dap that has the musically of the mojo 2. I'll buy another one. If Sony has the power I'll sell the 507 and get a 707 in an instant. But I suspect it won't against the mojo 2. I can do without a DAP but if the 707 is platinum, I'll get it. I love the players without shelf chips

The ZX707 won't have the same power output as the Mojo 2. The Mojo 2 spec is 600 mW into 30 Ohms (4.2V RMS). The uncapped ZX707 does 230 mW into 16 Ohms (1.9V RMS) over its balanced output, and 50 mW from its 3.5mm output.

Does everyone here use the Walkman app for battery considerations or are things like UAPP better?

Curious if anyone has A B tested.

Hmm, might stick to the mojo 2 path then. Plus will double as desktop and dac.
