lol… yeah. I love the 5691s and made sure I had 2 NOS pairs due to the FOMONew fear unlocked! Gotta get spares of my favourites before the new Aegis owners start tube rolling
Funnily, just done the same with the ECC35s. Both perfect for different genres. So with 4 pairs between them I feel a little less panicky… but I may have to dabble again … just in case

I’m a bit overwhelmed by all the different output tubes. I thought about grabbing some 807 tubes because they’re pretty cheap, but I haven’t read much feedback on these from any Aegis owners.

I don't know that anyone has reported on the 807 in Aegis, it's a very highly regarded tube and I'm sure it would sound great for very little money. You do need a set of adapters however.

I’m going to stock up on a bunch of the Xuling adapters on eBay (EL38, EL39, 807, and EL84). I think that should cover me for the foreseeable future. I’m going to stick with input tubes that don’t require an adapter.I don't know that anyone has reported on the 807 in Aegis, it's a very highly regarded tube and I'm sure it would sound great for very little money. Does anyone know what the fuse size is for the ZMF Aegis? Thinking of grabbing a purple or Gustard fuse

I think a some Aegis owners may have been focusing on other tubes and hadn’t realised the 807 & vt60 were an option… read that as I hadn’tI don't know that anyone has reported on the 807 in Aegis, it's a very highly regarded tube and I'm sure it would sound great for very little money. I order the adapter a week a go so no doubt I’ll have a dabble with some 807s etc in the near future! There are a lot of good options out there, it’s easy to miss some of them!
Adapters to 807 are a very good investment because you can buy around 6 types of 807 with different flavours which include british brands. Some of them are branded QE06/50 or ATS25 but in the end work in the same adapter and bias the same so you can consider all variations of 807. Besides those you have the Sylvania 5933 which is ugly but sounds decent and if you hate adapters you can go for 5932 which works natively in 6V6 wired amplifiers. In the same adapters one can use PE06/40N which is a very special tube, rare and old but very good. Good luck guys and share photos.

It’s too easy to end up with all of them .I think a some Aegis owners may have been focusing on other tubes and hadn’t realised the 807 & vt60 were an option… read that as I hadn’t

Speaking of the 807. . .
Three more different versions and adapters are on the way.
More to come. . .

I hear she is closing her eBay shop soon, so if anyone wants to buy adapters, I would do it sooner rather than later.
So many tubes, and so little time. . .
Here are a couple of output tubes worth a look.
The Mullard 6L6G is already a winner in my book. This tube does super deep and tight bass and lifelike mids incredibly well, with crazy holographic staging. The bass with the CC's is freaking awesome. This tube is awesome for Folk, Bluegrass, acoustic stuff and anything with female vocals. Agnes Obel sounds incredible with these tubes.
These Russian 6P3S are also fantastic and can be had for cheap. These are more of a fun V-shape with big bass albeit a bit loose, decent mids and extended yet smooths highs. This tube is a lot of fun with Electronica.
A couple of Rectifiers worth owning.
The Mullard GZ32 Black Plate. Compared to the stock Sovtek 5AR4, the GZ32 relaxes the sound a bit, and opens up the stage. The bass becomes fuller, and the level of realism in the mids goes up substantially. I have the earlier black plate version that is a bit rare, but I would assume the more widely available grey plate GZ32 is close.
Next we have a fun one, and highly affordable rectifier the Chatham/Tung-Sol 5R4WGY AKA. "Potato Masher", and this one also opens up the staging and has a grander presentation with good note weight, compared to the stock Sovtek. This tube can be had for around $25, and I think everyone should own one.
Several more are on the way, so more to come.

This is true, but we still have the custom adapter maker @Deyan, of which I prefer to use anyway.I hear she is closing her eBay shop soon, so if anyone wants to buy adapters, I would do it sooner rather than later.
